I have always been a real estate investor.
My real estate journey started with fix and flips in my home state of Michigan. I’ve been a broker, investor and was a commercial lender for years before I fell into the park business.
In 2015, one of my clients asked if I would be interested in buying one of her parks. She was tired of running the park and she wanted more time with her family.
After weeks of due diligence, I decided to go for it. I was baptized and officially a park owner. I had demos to do, rehabs, evictions, leaky water lines, all the fun stuff nobody told me about prior to owning the park. I learned every day. It cost me a lot of money. Way more than I anticipated. A job I thought I could do in a few weeks, took months. It was a very painful learning curve.
I wouldn’t have done it any other way. A crash course in park ownership was the lesson and it led me to roughly 500 pads in 5 states today. The lessons I learned were endless and I’m thankful I never gave up. More than a few times I was ready to walk away.
I have a sign on my wall that reads “Keep going”. A daily reminder to push a little more.
I currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina with my beautiful wife and two children.
